W.I.S.E. Women stands for Western's Initiative for the Support and Empowerment of Women. W.I.S.E Women is a leadership and advocacy group developed to provide a safe, inviting and non-oppressive forum in which all persons are free to affirm and celebrate their differences. W.I.S.E Women encourage women and men to support each other in their endeavors and to become aware of issues locally and globally that affect women, children and relationships across genders. W.I.S.E Women strive to increase awareness on issues such as gender equity, domestic violence, and cultural diversity on campus and within the local community. W.I.S.E Women is open to all men and women. Members of W.I.S.E Women will receive opportunities to increase confidence and self-esteem, while having and activist approach towards women's issues and concerns.
